Hi Jennifer: Did you know that October is Family History Month? Neither did I, till today. So, here's a bit to get you started. My mom is Pat Zylstra- your mother's oldest sister. She is married to my Dad - John and they have four children as follows: Me (Nancy) , Shirley, Jack and Anne. We are all married and each of us has two children and we all live in Southern Ontario.I'm 40 years old and I'm married to Steven - we got married June 12, 1999. We have two children (mine from a previous marriage). They are Chantelle - 19 years old and Matthew - 14 years old. Chantelle is @ University of Toronto right now and Matt is in Grade 9 @ Grimsby Secondary School. Matt plays hockey, so we spend a lot of time in the arena. As a family we enjoy ski-doing, going up north to our friends cottage, fishing. I'm a bookkeeper and my husband is an office manager for a book warehouse. My sister, Anne (she's the youngest in our family (35) and I'm the oldest) are very close. We used to work together but we don't anymore so we spend a lot of time on the phone. She is married to Mike and their last name is Enderby. They have two children, Elysia and Bradley. Elysia is in Grade 8 and I think Bradley is in Grade 6 (or maybe 7). Both of them are quite active in baseball and volleyball. Anne doesn't have email but her phone # is 905-386-0259. My sister Shirley's last name is Lang and her significant other is Les. Her two boys' names are Patrick and Nicholas. My brother, Jack Zylstra is married to Mary and their two children are Mary and Mitchell. They live in LaSalette which is about 2 hours drive from the rest of us. Aunt Sandra, your mother's other sister lives right down the street from my Mom & Dad in Smithville. She lives alone (except for her dog) and we see quite a bit of her because she's usually with my Mom unless she's off to BINGO, her favorite passtime. Uncle Mike is married to Brenda. They haven't been married that long, I'd have to look up dates, maybe 5 years? Her children were already grown when they married. I don't know their names. Since Nanny & Grandad are both gone, there's not really been many times that all of my Mom's family has been together. The last couple of summers, I've been calling them to come to my house for a BBQ because, like you, I don't want to lose touch. I think my Mom was looking up names, dates, any family info she can find for your family tree. I'm also very interested in that part of the family tree. I know that you'd like to hear about Suzanne, so I can tell you what little I know, since I was only 11 when she passed away. She was my favorite Aunt (don't tell Aunt Sandra that or I'll be in her bad book) I remember that she worked in a hairdressing salon and whenever I went to Nanny & Grandad's she would take me in to the shop with her. I would get fussed over, have my hair and nails done and I loved getting to go with her. For a long time, I thought I wanted to be a hairdresser. I thought Aunt Suzanne always looked really pretty and she was lots of fun. I was very heartbroken when I learned that she had passed away. Not too much was said about what had happened but everyone was really devasted. My parents didn't let me go to the funeral, so it didn't seem real to me for a very long time. My Mom can probably fill in a lot more blanks about that time than I can. When I was very young, I had named the angel on our family xmas tree, Suzie after Aunt Suzanne and the angel I have on my family tree now has the same name. I can tell you lots about Nanny & Grandad, if you like, because I visited them a lot when I was a kid and I tried to visit often when I had kids of my own. They were really great and I miss both of them. I should go now, my son is waiting to go online before bed. Feel free to email me, I'd love to hear from you! Love Cousin Nancy
